“FOR 2027” Gibraltar Bush Clover

Gibraltar Bush Clover
Lespedeza thunbergii

In late summer to early fall, it produces arching branches laden with masses of rosy-purple, violet-pink, or lavender-pink, pea-like flowers.

Because it blooms on new growth, the woody top growth should be cut hard down to the ground in late winter or early spring before new shoots emerge.

Prefers full sun for the best floral display (6+ hours a day).
Bloom time: August to September.
Good drainage is essential.

Height and spread: 4-5 ft
USDA zone 6. The top may die down in the winter but will regrow and bloom. Mulch well for the winter.
2-gallon pot
