Shade-tolerant perennial. Plant in a spot that receives sunlight in the spring and some shade in the summer, like under a deciduous shrub or a tree, or under a gazebo that fills in with foliage in the summer.

‘Whirlwind Romance’ has dark burgundy veins over white petals, with the back of the petal showing dark burgundy color. Compared to ‘Blushing Bridesmaid’ this variety is a darker burgundy with more color saturation at petal tips.

In our garden (Marina from Halifax Perennials) hellebores grow in a full sun spot among other perennials. In spring, when hellebores bloom, they receive lots of sunlight, as most perennials are just starting to come up from the ground. In the summer, neighbouring plants protect hellebores from the heat.

Rabbit and deer resistant.

Blooms for 2-3 months, from March-April to June.
