Plant in a sunny place. It grows well in windy, exposed places, too. Pencil Point Juniper tolerates drought well once it is established, and it grows in any well-drained soil, including rocky and alkaline soils. It has no significant pests or diseases, and it is generally not bothered by deer.

A fine, narrowly columnar juniper with interesting blue-green foliage and a dense habit of growth; a beautiful specimen.
