Clematis Sweet Autumn

Clematis Sweet Autumn (for spring 2021)

$29.00
Clematis Sweet Autumn is a great asset to the garden at a time of year when pretty much everything else has stopped blooming. There are few vines that produce more flowers over the course of several weeks than a vigorous sweet autumn clematis. This hardy climber is a rampant grower that can reach to 30 feet, but can easily be kept in check by cutting stems back to 12 inches in spring. It blooms on the current year's growth, and unlike many Clematis, it will thrive and bloom well in partial shade. Plants are unlikely to bloom the first year, but expect them to begin blooming the second year. As soon as warm weather arrives in late April and early May, you can almost watch the new shoots grow, as it's not unusual for them to put on the better part of a foot of growth every couple of days! Will tolerate some shade. Fragrant? Yes Flowering Period: Sept-Oct Mature Height: 20-30′(6-9m) Pruning Group: A B or C (can be pruned any time) Planting Aspect: Full Sun USDA Zone: 5 (winter-hardy to -29 C or -20 F) Plant size: 1-gallon pot. Pick up in Halifax in early May 2021. Not available by mail order.

Moody Blue Rose (Hybrid Tea) (for Spring 2021)

$34.00$39.00
Moody Blue is a stunning rose with intense blue-lilac flowers. Large double blooms fade to silvery lavender. Grows to about 1 meter tall (~3-3.5 ft). Available as a bare root plant or in pots. Won't be mailed. Pick up in Halifax. Bare root pick-up: Bare root plants need to be picked up and planted within 2-3 days of their arrival to us. Bare root roses are tentatively arriving in the first week of May, but this may vary by a couple of days. A notification of roses arriving will be posted on our Facebook page about 1-2 weeks ahead of time. Roses can be planted in the garden in early May; they are hardy and won't mind an occasional night freeze. For the peace of mind, a frost cover (or an old bedsheet) can be thrown over them in cool weather. If you might not be able to pick up and plant your rose promptly, consider selecting "potted plant" option instead.
