Clematis Sweet Autumn

Clematis Sweet Autumn (for spring 2021)

$29.00
Clematis Sweet Autumn is a great asset to the garden at a time of year when pretty much everything else has stopped blooming. There are few vines that produce more flowers over the course of several weeks than a vigorous sweet autumn clematis. This hardy climber is a rampant grower that can reach to 30 feet, but can easily be kept in check by cutting stems back to 12 inches in spring. It blooms on the current year's growth, and unlike many Clematis, it will thrive and bloom well in partial shade. Plants are unlikely to bloom the first year, but expect them to begin blooming the second year. As soon as warm weather arrives in late April and early May, you can almost watch the new shoots grow, as it's not unusual for them to put on the better part of a foot of growth every couple of days! Will tolerate some shade. Fragrant? Yes Flowering Period: Sept-Oct Mature Height: 20-30′(6-9m) Pruning Group: A B or C (can be pruned any time) Planting Aspect: Full Sun USDA Zone: 5 (winter-hardy to -29 C or -20 F) Plant size: 1-gallon pot. Pick up in Halifax in early May 2021. Not available by mail order.

RARE Tree Peonies for fall 2021

Please check back in January-February 2021 for a nice long list of rare tree peonies. This is a plan of what I would like to do. First (in January to early February 2021), a wide selection of varieties would be available. You would be able to choose from a good number of rare tree peonies. That would be the longest list for the year. Then, sometime in February-March (dates to be updated as we get closer the the date) we would need to send our order to the grower. After that date, only varieties that were pre-ordered by gardeners plus a few varieties of our choice would be available for fall 2021. So, after the cut-off date, the number of varieties of rare tree peonies in our catalogue would be limited. In 2020, we offered 12 varieties. Still a nice selection. Of these 12 varieties in 2020, 8 were sold out by July 2020. So order early to reserve the plants of your choice. These peonies would be mailed in fall 2021 or can be picked up in Halifax. 2020 prices were in the range of $170-$210. 2021 prices may change. For now we don't charge HST on any purchases. Size: bare root plant, 1-year old grafts. Most of these bloom on the second spring in the ground. Bare root tree peonies would be available by mail anywhere in Canada. We don't send out a reminder, but you could check out Facebook page for updates. Once the long list is posted or the deadline is known, an update would be posted there: https://www.facebook.com/halifaxperennials/
